The Falling Smoke

For an evening you want to watch rather than talk. The Pentigan Falls backflow burner, Aromatica backflow cones in palo santo, a pack of amber masala backflow cones and a Mystic Musk soy candle. Backflow cones are hollow, so the smoke sinks instead of rising.

How the ritual goes

  1. I

Light the candle and switch off the big light, so the smoke shows against the dark.

  2. II

Light one backflow cone, let it flame for a moment, blow it out and set it on top of the falls.

  3. III

Watch the smoke run down until the cone is ash. Only backflow cones work, ordinary cones rise.
