Marigold & Lotus
Two flowers of the Indian temple tradition as Banjara fragrance oils: marigold, the orange blossom strung into garlands for Diwali and temple offerings, and lotus, the flower that opens on still water. With the large white Moon & Star oil burner and six lavender tealights. 10 ml per oil, for the oil burner only.
How the ritual goes
- I
Set the oil burner on a fireproof surface, away from curtains, and fill the bowl with water.
- II
Add a few drops of marigold to the water and light a tealight beneath. The oil goes into the water only, never on the skin.
- III
Next time, lotus, softer and cooler. Never leave the flame alone, and blow it out before the bowl runs dry.
✕ Matches and a heat-proof dish are not included.
For whom
