Light the end of one stick, let it catch, blow out the flame and lay it on a heat-resistant dish or holder. Nag champa takes its name from the champak flower of India, and the scent is rich and warm, soft floral notes over a gentle woody depth, with a dry, resinous base rather than a heavy sweetness. Each stick is a little different in colour and texture, and they come wrapped inside an illustrated box. Never leave it burning unattended.
